Argentine Tango is a partner dance and social dance that originated in the late 19th century in the suburbs of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is characterized by a strong emphasis on connection, improvisation, and musicality between the dancers. In this class we will be teaching footwork, frame, connection and several beautiful patterns to get you comfortable and look impressive dancing this beautiful dance style. At the heart of tango is a simple idea: one person leads (providing structure and guidance), and the other person reads (responding, interpreting, and adding color) - a continuous conversation that anyone can learn.
