The Viennese Waltz is a fast, elegant ballroom dance known for its continuous turning movements and flowing rise and fall. Originating in Austria in the late 18th century, it’s one of the oldest and most classic ballroom styles. Dancers glide across the floor in a closed hold, rotating gracefully to music in 3/4 time, creating a smooth, romantic, and almost floating effect. In this class you will learn the footwork, connection, turns and more to be able to dance this beautiful style.
When: Tuesdays, Apr 14, 21, 28, May 5
Time: 7:45pm-8:45pm
Instructors: David Hartwig & Kate Garner
Prerequisite: none, no partner needed.
Lesson Cost: (entire 4 weeks) $50/Single & $80/Couple
Dress Attire: wear comfortable clothing and shoes must be worn. Please no flip flops or open back shoes when learning how to dance.
About the Instructor: David Hartwig has studied Viennese Waltz at the Elmayer Dance School in Vienna which is one of the most prominent dance schools in the world. We are honored to have him teach this beautiful dance to our community.
